Job Description
Purpose of the role
The role of Market Manager is a crucial link between a new key account partner and our suppliers. You will be responsible in development of new business and maintaining existing business opportunities for Spanish, Portuguese and Italian customers traveling to Indonesia. The role is a diverse one covering product development, quotations and reservations, quality control and strategic planning. We are looking for an experienced candidate with proven ability and track record on the Latin Inbound market to Indonesia.
Overall responsibilities
  • Responsible for new business and maintaining existing business development strategies and planning in leisure segment in the Spanish, Italian and Latin American markets, and to support and coordinate with MICE Manager in regard to Group and Incentive segment.
  • Responsible for all programs, itineraries, quotations, accounting-related matters as well as product development
  • Responsible for communication with various overseas tour operators and their product managers
  • Working with different departments within the organization and the respective managers with focus on sales, product development, operations, quality control measures and customer relations
  • Solving problem that may arise during reservation as well as operational process, together with the respective department
  • Ensuring that all relevant data is uploaded in Asian Trails’ administration system
  • Ongoing product development, pricing and itinerary developments for new and existing customers, based on trends and demands from these markets
  • Design and host/coordinate on inspection trips for agent familiarization trips leading to new business, and where needed, meeting customers in Indonesia
  • The ambassador of Asian Trails Indonesia during trade shows, industry-related events and sales calls
  • Directly reports to the Managing Director
Qualifications, skills and requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, university degree preferred or relevant working experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a management position in the tourism industry
  • Fluent command of verbal and written English and Spanish is essential. Portuguese and Italian are a plus
  • Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Indonesia and /or South East Asia is a priority
  • Proven track record of individual, group and MICE handling capabilities
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications and computing skills, including the use of DMC related software
  • Open for some travel within Indonesia and abroad
  • Having capability in developing standards, quality management, coordination and coaching techniques
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season. A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking, includes creative thinking
  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritize and organize are preferred skill sets to fill this role. Working under pressure is to be expected
